Suriyan (Suriyanarkoil)

This is the temple for Sun.It is the only second temple for "Sun", next to "Konark"(Orissa).The temple is only just 15 kms from Kumbakonam.The Structure of the temple is different and also unique.

The "Navagrahas" are around the "Moolavar", the "Suriyan", in the square shape.So this is the mega model of the general "Nava Graha Sannathi" in all temples.

Chandran (Thingalor) This shrine is around 45 kms from Kumbakonam.The name of the place is Thingalor.This is the only temple for Moon in the World.Here the God "Chandran" bless to his bhakthas as the Moolavar.

Chevvai (Vaitheesvarankoil) This is the temple for "Chevvai" .This is situated at the distance of 50 Kms from kumbakonam.The name of the place is "Vaitheesvarankoil".This place is famous for "Naadijhothida".

Buthan (Thiruvengadu) This temple is at the distance of 60 kms from Kumbakonam.The name of the place is Thiruvengadu.This is the only temple for Buthan.

Guru (Alangudi) This is the temple for the god,"Guru".It is only 17 kms away from Kumbakonam, Alangudi. The Name of the shrine is "Aabath Sahayeswarar Temple". This is the only place where the Lord Guru blesses to his "Bakthas" as "Moolavar" and also it is the only temple for Guru all over the World."Guru Peyarchi" is being celebrated every year very grandly.

Sukkran (Kanjanoor) This is the temple for Venus, situated at Kanjanoor.It is around 45 kms from Kumbakonam.He is the "Guru and Advisor" for the "arakkar".His only enemies are "Devas".This is the only temple for sukkran for the whole world.It will be fantastic to see the God glitters as gold.The period "Sukkra thasai" is the wonderful life time of every person.

Sani (Thirunallar) This is the famous temple for "Saturn" . Here the Moolavar is lord, "Sani"(Saturn). This is 60 kms from Kumbakonam. This is the place where the King, "Nala" was blessed from his curse. So those who visit the temple are blessed.This the boon given to Nala, by the Lord.The name of the Moolavar is "Saneeswarar".So he is equivalent in grace and strength to the Lord "Siva".The full story of the King Nala was explained beautifully in Paintings in the temple walls. The most important festival is "Sani Peyarchi" celebrated, 2.5 years once.

Raagu (Thirunageswaram) This temple is around 10 kms from Kumbakonam.The name of the place is Thirunageswaram.The best time to pray the God is "Raagu Kalam". The idle, the Lord Raagu changes to blue colour, at the time of "Abishegam" (milk).A large size skin of the King Cobra is decorating the front side of the shrine.The people, who has "Naaga Thosham" has to visit the shrine for the blessings of the Raagu.The Goddess here is unique.She is the combination of the Saraswathi,Lakshmi,Sakthi.

Keathu (Keelaperumpallam) This temple is around 25 kms from Kumbakonam.The name of the place is KeelaPerumPallam. The Moolavar here is The God "Keathu".This is the only temple for Kedu for all over the World.We will be astonished to see the God in Snake Shape, blesses magesticly.
